Marc Gonzalez, DDS

Dr. Marc Gonzalez is the owner and founder of Embark Dental. A North Carolina native raised in Charlotte, he earned a BA in Chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill and a DDS from the UNC Adams School of Dentistry.

His interest in dentistry began with childhood dental challenges and a compassionate pediatric dentist who helped relieve his pain. That experience continues to shape the way he listens to patients who feel uncomfortable or uncertain about treatment.

Dr. Gonzalez has completed more than 900 hours of continuing education. He holds an IV Sedation Permit from the North Carolina Dental Board, completed Invisalign training through Molis Coaching, and is a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Buncombe County Dental Society. He has also provided care at a free urgent-care clinic and volunteered on dental missions in Mexico and Moldova.

Vivian Nguyen, DMD

Dr. Vivian Nguyen is originally from Greenville, North Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with cum laude honors from East Carolina University in 2017 and her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the same university in 2021.

She received the Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health award from the American Association of Public Health Dentistry and is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Nguyen has completed more than 400 hours of continuing education. She takes time to understand each patient’s dental goals and develop a clear plan based on those priorities.

A Visit With Room To Ask Questions

Some patients arrive for a routine cleaning. Others have delayed care because of anxiety, cost concerns, or a complicated dental history. You can expect an exam focused on your current oral health, an explanation of any findings, and time to discuss the choices available to you.

If added support would make treatment more manageable, sedation options include nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV moderate conscious sedation. Dr. Gonzalez holds an IV Sedation Permit from the North Carolina Dental Board. Your health history and planned care determine whether sedation is appropriate.

Embark Dental is located at 745 Biltmore Avenue #101 in Asheville, North Carolina. Office hours are Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Thursday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, with Friday visits available by appointment. The office is closed Saturday and Sunday.
